DIMAPUR: Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers Union (NCSU) called on Swarai Meru, newly appointed Engineer-in-Chief (E-in-C), Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD), at the PWD Office, Kohima, on August 19.
Led by president Pele Khezhie and general secretary John Kath, the delegation extended warm greetings and congratulations to Meru on assuming charge, and conveyed best wishes for a successful tenure.
During the meeting, the Union discussed matters concerning contractors and suppliers in the state, emphasising the importance of continued coordination, communication and cooperation between NPWD and the contracting community.
The NCSU expressed hope that under Meru’s leadership, the Department would further strengthen engagement with contractors and suppliers, creating a conducive environment for smooth and timely execution of public works across Nagaland. The Union assured its full cooperation and support in the discharge of his responsibilities, pledging to work closely with the Department in the larger interest of infrastructure development and the people of the state.
The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, with both sides stressing the importance of mutual understanding and continued engagement for effective implementation of public works.
