IGAR (North) reviews flood affected areas in Tizit

DIMAPUR: Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) visited the flood affected areas of Tizit, Mon district, on August 22 to review the prevailing situation and assess the impact of the recent floods on the local population and essential infrastructure.
During the visit, the officer inspected Holy Trinity School, Tizit, and took stock of the damage caused to the school infrastructure. He interacted with school authorities and reviewed immediate requirements for restoration and rehabilitation of the affected facilities. General Body members, chairman and secretary of Tizit Town also met the Inspector General and apprised him of concerns faced by the local population in the aftermath of the floods, including restoration of essential infrastructure, rehabilitation of affected families and timely assistance to victims.
The Inspector General assured school authorities and local representatives of all possible assistance and support towards relief, restoration and rehabilitation efforts. He directed that dedicated, timely and need based aid be extended to the flood affected population, ensuring support reaches the needy on priority.
