DIMAPUR: Department of Information Technology, Nagaland University, organised a meaningful and informative “Talk on Entrepreneurship” on August 25. The session was delivered by Er. Dhiraj Kalita, representing DK Tech Pvt. Ltd., Guwahati, who shared valuable insights on entrepreneurship, financial planning, and career development.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Sujata Dash, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, in the presence of faculty members of the IT Department.
In her inaugural address, Prof. Dash encouraged students to make the best use of such interactive sessions to develop knowledge and skills required to succeed in a rapidly changing professional environment.
During the session, Kalita discussed financial literacy, value addition in professional development, sources of income, investment opportunities, and effective financial planning. He also highlighted government schemes and subsidies available to aspiring entrepreneurs, urging students to take advantage of such opportunities to establish start ups.
He emphasised the importance of adaptability and employability, inspiring students to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset and strive to become job creators rather than job seekers.
The interaction was highly engaging, providing practical knowledge and motivation to explore entrepreneurship and innovation as career pathways. Students actively participated and gained insights into financial management, investments, start up opportunities, and career preparedness.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Er. Shanchamo Yanthan, Assistant Professor, IT Department, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, Dean, faculty members and participants.
The department reaffirmed its commitment to organising such programmes to empower students with the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to meet future challenges and contribute meaningfully to society.
