DIMAPUR: Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, through the MSME Development & Facilitation Office (MSME DFO), Dimapur, in collaboration with the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, and District Industries Centre (DIC), Tuensang, organised a one day awareness workshop on Branding and Marketing under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme at ENPO Hall, Tuensang, on August 25.
According to PIB Kohima, the workshop aimed to strengthen entrepreneurial capabilities of PM Vishwakarma artisans by providing practical knowledge and technical insights on product packaging, labelling and design, export development, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and financial literacy. The first technical session on Product Packaging, Labelling and Design was delivered by C. Bejem Nangmai of Nangmai Enterprises, who emphasised the importance of developing strong product identity and enhancing competitiveness through effective branding, attractive packaging and compliance with statutory labelling requirements. She also highlighted the role of sustainable packaging solutions in improving product appeal and consumer confidence. The session on Export Development was conducted by Thungdi C. Chang, inspector, DIC Tuensang, who introduced participants to fundamentals of export readiness and requirements for accessing national and international markets. He elaborated on government support schemes available to MSMEs and artisans, encouraging participants to seek guidance through the DIC. Representatives from the banking sector, including Lead District Manager, SBI Tuensang, and Branch Manager, SBI Tuensang, interacted with participants and addressed queries.
An interactive session on Artificial Intelligence (AI) was conducted by the State Programme Management Unit (SPMU), PM Vishwakarma, which introduced emerging digital technologies and demonstrated effective prompts for branding, product design and marketing.
The Financial Literacy session was delivered by Khanjimong C, Financial Analyst, RAMP Scheme, DIC Tuensang.
