Raksha Bandhan lifelong bond: Khandu

Itanagar, Aug 28 (PTI): Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday extended warm greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, saying the festival symbolises love, trust and a lifelong bond of mutual care and responsibility. In a social media post, Khandu said Raksha Bandhan holds a special place in Indian tradition and is much more than the exchange of a sacred thread.
“In Indian tradition, rakhi is more than a thread. It is a symbol of love, trust and a lifelong bond of mutual care and responsibility,” he said. Khandu said the festival serves as a reminder of the importance of standing by one another and being a source of strength and support for each other.
“Raksha Bandhan reminds us to stand by one another, be each other’s strength and honour the bonds that connect us,” he said.
The CM expressed hope that the festival would continue to strengthen the enduring bonds of family and togetherness.
“May this beautiful tradition continue to strengthen the timeless bonds of family and togetherness,” he said.
Deputy CM Chowna Mein also greeted the people on the occasion.
He said the sacred rakhi thread represents a bond that goes beyond the ritual associated with the festival.
“This sacred thread is more than a ritual; it’s a bond of love, trust, and protection that has held our families together for generations,” he said.
Mein wished that the festival would strengthen relationships and bring happiness to families.
“May this Rakhi strengthen every relationship, bring joy to every home, and carry forward the spirit of togetherness that defines us,” he added.
