DIMAPUR: In a first, the INTACH Nagaland Chapter organised the FILMIT India Workshop 2026 on August 29 at Tulip Hall, Duncan Basti.
The one‑day workshop was conducted by a team from INTACH New Delhi with technical experts from Tuning Fork Films, renowned award‑winning filmmakers who led the sessions. Participating schools included Charis High Academy, Christian Hr. Sec. School, Ram Janaki Hr. Sec. School, The Maple Tree School and Bethesda Hr. Sec. School.
FILMIT is a multi‑cultural project that nurtures cultural understanding, care and concern among school children through the experience of making and sharing films. Initiated in 2007, this year marks the 19th year of the project, with more than 7,000 films uploaded on its website.
The programme engages students from Classes 6-8 in developing short films of 1-2 minutes on their culture using mobile phones. These films are shared online with students across the country and abroad. The participants will now go on to produce short films which will be uploaded on the website and screened at the National Interschool Film Festival in February 2027.
The INTACH Nagaland Chapter expressed gratitude to the participating schools for their support and wished the students success in capturing their heritage on film.
