Awareness on clean air held for industries in Chümoukedima

DIMAPUR: A Special Awareness and Sensitisation Programme for industrial units under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) was held at the Conference Hall of Hotel Saramati, Dimapur, on August 28.
The programme was organised by the District Industries Centre (DIC), Dimapur in association with the Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB), with the objective of creating awareness among industrial units on air pollution, environmental protection and the importance of complying with prescribed environmental norms, a DIPR report stated.
Functional Manager, DIC Dimapur, N. Abeno Lotha chaired the programme. Delivering the keynote address, Jethro Mesen highlighted the importance of responsible industrial practices and collective efforts towards maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
Yanathung Kithan, Scientist B, NPCB, presented on “Ambient Air Quality and Its Impact,” outlining the sources and effects of air pollution and stressing the need for effective control measures.
Senior Environmental Engineer, NPCB, Aghali A. Swu spoke on “Environmental Compliance of Industries,” sensitising participants on the importance of adhering to environmental regulations and adopting sustainable practices in industrial activities.
In his concluding remarks, Functional Manager, DIC Dimapur, Kiyelu T. Yeptho emphasised the need for continued cooperation between industries and regulatory authorities to ensure sustainable industrial development and a cleaner environment.
