AR conduct outreach programmes

DIMAPUR: Assam Rifles organised a series of community outreach programmes across Nagaland, reaffirming its commitment to youth motivation, healthcare, emergency response and drug awareness.
At Athibung, Peren district, Assam Rifles conducted “A Day with Company Commander” with 40 students of Yatrang School, Athibung. The programme featured a motivational movie, a tug of war competition and an interactive session on the life of a soldier. Students gained insights into discipline, dedication, training and values of service to the nation. The initiative fostered trust, mutual respect and community bonding, with teachers and local authorities appreciating the thoughtful organisation.
In Middle Jalukie, Peren district, Assam Rifles organised a medical camp attended by 62 people, including men, women and children. Medical teams provided free check ups, basic treatment, medicines and guidance on hygiene and preventive care. The camp created a patient friendly environment and strengthened civil military relations by promoting accessible healthcare and community well being.
On August 26, Assam Rifles personnel responded swiftly to a bus accident near Iron Bridge, Chare Town, Tuensang, involving students of St. Christ Kings School, Longkhim. Immediate first aid and medical assistance were provided, stabilising the injured and ensuring timely care for those requiring further treatment. The prompt intervention reflected Assam Rifles’ commitment to safeguarding lives and providing humanitarian assistance during emergencies.
Meanwhile, in Phek district, Assam Rifles, in coordination with the District Level Committee for Narcotics Coordination Centre (NCORD), Police and District Hospital Phek, conducted a drug abuse awareness campaign across nine schools. Interactive sessions highlighted the physical, psychological and social consequences of drug abuse, using videos, pictures and role plays to engage students. The campaign sensitised youth on the risks of substance abuse and encouraged healthy, responsible choices. Joint participation of security forces, police and healthcare services provided a comprehensive perspective on prevention and awareness.
Through these initiatives-spanning motivation, healthcare, emergency response and awareness-Assam Rifles continues to strengthen civil military relations, promote peace and harmony, and build lasting partnerships with communities across Nagaland.
