DIMAPUR: Canara Bank, Kohima New Capital Complex Area Branch (NCCA), under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, extended financial support to meritorious and underprivileged girl students of Government High School, Diki, Dihoma, Kohima, under the Canara Vidya Jyothi Scholarship Scheme.
The Dr. Ambedkar Vidya Jyothi Scholarship supports meritorious and underprivileged SC/ST girl students studying in Classes 5 to 10, with the objective of preventing dropouts, promoting academic excellence and advancing gender equality.
On August 27, Canara Bank, Kohima NCCA Branch, in collaboration with GHS Diki, Dihoma, organised a felicitation programme for girl toppers from Classes 5 to 10. Scholarship awardees were felicitated by Shuli Lokho, Branch Manager, and Machuk Wurmi Luikham, Assistant Branch Manager, Canara Bank, Kohima NCCA Branch.
Speaking at the programme, Shuli Lokho emphasised the importance of girl child education and encouraged students to strive for excellence in their studies. He reminded them that success comes to those who are dedicated, sincere, hardworking and consistent in whatever field they choose to pursue.
The felicitation programme underscored Canara Bank’s continued commitment to supporting education and empowering underprivileged students through its CSR initiatives.
