DIMAPUR: In a major step towards digitalising two wheeler taxi services and empowering local youth with technology driven employment, the WHIZZ App (Ride Hailing & Mobility Platform) was officially launched in Dimapur.
The app was launched by Zasivikho Zakiesato, president of Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF), during the 7th Foundation Day celebration of the Dimapur District Two Wheeler Taxi Association (DDTWTA) held at Kuda ‘A’ Khel Jotsoma Community Hall, Dimapur on August 29, 2026.
In his address, Zakiesato lauded the association’s efforts in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and commended its disciplined and dedicated service to the public. He also appreciated Shiyeto Wotsami for his valuable ideas and initiative in organising the programme. The traffic awareness session delivered by OC, Dimapur Traffic, was noted as informative and important, with hopes that the message of road safety would inspire members to be more disciplined and responsible.
The programme was hosted by Matsung Ozukum and commenced with an invocation by Vikito Wotsa. The welcome address was delivered by Khrozote Kapfo, Convenor, Action Committee. Delivering the presidential speech, Shiyeto Wotsa, president, DDTWTA, highlighted the journey of the association, its role in generating youth employment and providing affordable mobility to the people of Dimapur.
The evening featured a duet by Limeka B. Swu and Elina B. Swu, a short speech on traffic rules and road safety by Dimapur Traffic Police, and a special presentation titled “I am a Taxi Rider” by Matsung Ozukum.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Honko Konyak, general secretary, DDTWTA, followed by benediction and the 7th Foundation Day feast.
