SVEEP awareness programme held at Mayangnokcha GHSS

DIMAPUR: A Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness programme was held on September 1 at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) in connection with the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Mokokchung district.
According to DIPR report, the event aimed to sensitise young voters and students on the importance of electoral participation. EAC Neithozo Theunuo, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) for the 27 AC Mokokchung Town assembly constituency, briefed the gathering. In his address, Theunuo highlighted the significance of voting rights, stressing the democratic principle of “one person, one vote” and the responsibility of every citizen to exercise their franchise.
Adding to the discussion, the supervisor for 27 A/C explained the technical and administrative aspects of the SIR exercise. He urged students, eligible voters and community members to extend full cooperation to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure an error free and updated electoral roll for the district.
