DIMAPUR: Students of the MDRC, Nagaland University, celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and reverence to honour the invaluable contributions of teachers and the MDRC Coordinator on September 3 at the MDRC Common Hall.
The students invited the MDRC coordinator along with faculty members representing the Departments of Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany and Mathematics, all of whom graced the occasion with their presence.
The inaugural session began with a welcome speech by first-year and third-year students, highlighting the significance of Teachers’ Day and the role of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Students showcased their talents and affection through various performances, including group songs, recitation of poems dedicated to teachers and a short speech on the importance of teachers in shaping society and research.
Faculty members also actively participated, sharing their experiences, blessings, and words of wisdom.
Some teachers presented songs, dance and memorable moments, making the celebration interactive and joyful.
All teachers were felicitated with tokens of love and gratitude by the students as a mark of respect.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by a student of MDRC, expressing sincere gratitude to the coordinator, faculty members and fellow students for making the event a grand success.
The celebration ended with light refreshments and group photography.
