DIMAPUR: Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, through the MSME Development and Facilitation Office (MSME DFO), Dimapur, in collaboration with the Department of Industries and Commerce and the District Industries Centre (DIC), Peren, organised a one day Awareness Workshop on Branding and Marketing under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme at the Women Welfare Organisation Conference Hall, Jalukie, Peren, on September 4, 2026.
According to DIPR report, the workshop aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurial capabilities of PM Vishwakarma artisans by equipping them with practical knowledge and technical insights on product packaging, labelling and design, export development, artificial intelligence and financial literacy.
The first technical session on Product Packaging, Labelling and Design was delivered by Kimthailiu Panmei, founder of Crave Inn and Pink Blossoms Society, who highlighted the critical role of effective packaging in enhancing product value, marketability and brand recall. The session on Export Development was conducted by Namziulung Pamai, Functional Manager, DIC Peren, who familiarised participants with fundamentals of export readiness and opportunities for accessing international markets.
Talinaro Longchar, Lead District Manager, SBI Dimapur, interacted with participants on financial assistance, credit facilities and loan application procedures. He also spoke on social security schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSSY).
A session on Business Development was delivered by Kezhono Kennao, Financial Analyst, RAMP Scheme, DIC Peren, focusing on integrated business growth planning, sound financial management and networking for enterprise sustainability.
The State Programme Management Unit (SPMU), PM Vishwakarma, conducted an interactive session on Artificial Intelligence and E commerce Onboarding, introducing participants to AI prompt creation, product design ideation, digital marketing and business promotion. Artisans were also guided on onboarding products onto e commerce platforms to improve market outreach.
Vivek Kumar from India Post Office, Dimapur, demonstrated QR code generation, highlighting its utility in enhancing digital visibility and facilitating wider market access.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Nikhilendra Y, IEDS, Assistant Director, MSME DFO Dimapur, who encouraged artisans to actively participate in government led capacity building initiatives and continually showcase their work to enhance visibility and business prospects.
