NU Medziphema holds mental well being workshop, counselling

DIMAPUR: Students Placement Cell, Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus organised a Mental Well being Workshop and One to One Counselling Session on September 3, 2026, with the aim of promoting mental and emotional well being and encouraging a supportive campus environment.
The morning workshop, held at the Multipurpose Hall under the Deeksharambh Programme, was conducted by Janthunglo Ngullie, Counselling Psychologist. The session focused on understanding mental well being, coping with stress, managing academic and personal pressures, and building healthy relationships and support systems. It also addressed misconceptions about mental health and encouraged participants to reflect on their experiences, needs and sources of support.
Students actively participated in discussions, reflective activities and an anonymous Q&A segment. Many described the workshop as beneficial, educational and an eye opener, particularly appreciating the opportunity to introspect and gain a better understanding of mental health.
The afternoon One to One Counselling Session, held at the Students’ Placement Office, was open to students, faculty and staff. The confidential facility received encouraging response, with participants availing themselves of individual guidance and support.
The programme was led by Dr. Mary N. Odyuo, Students Placement Officer, who briefed participants on the objectives, while Dr. S. Pavan, Assistant Students Placement Officer, supervised the session.
The initiative reaffirmed Nagaland University Medziphema Campus’ commitment to holistic student development and to fostering a caring, supportive and healthier campus environment.
