DIMAPUR: The valedictory ceremony of the six day Hindi Creative Writing Camp, jointly organised by the Department of Hindi, Nagaland University and the Central Hindi Directorate, Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi, was held on September 5, 2026, at the Conference Hall of the Department of Hindi, Nagaland University.
The camp was aimed at encouraging creative expression and fostering innovative writing in Hindi among participants from non Hindi speaking regions.
The valedictory programme was compered by Nainung Nonang, research scholar, while Ajay Suba delivered the welcome address. Natthulal, Assistant Director, Central Hindi Directorate, New Delhi, shared his experiences and highlighted the achievements of the camp. Prof. Hitendra Kumar Mishra, director, Central Hindi Directorate, addressed the participants as special guest and shared valuable insights.
Prof. N. Venuh, Pro Vice Chancellor, Kohima Campus, Nagaland University, graced the occasion as chief guest and spoke on the significance of promoting Hindi language and creative writing. Sarita Yadav, secretary, Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Nagaland, addressed the gathering as guest of honour.
The programme was presided over by Dr. Munni Chaudhary, Head, Department of Hindi, Nagaland University.
The camp brought together participants from Assam, Tripura, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, introducing them to various dimensions of Hindi writing and creative expression. Experts emphasised the need to promote study, writing and creative use of Hindi in non Hindi speaking regions.
At the conclusion, Dr. Brijesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, Nagaland University, and camp coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks.
The initiative is regarded as a significant step towards promoting Hindi in Northeast India and fostering greater interest in Hindi creative writing among young people from non Hindi speaking regions.
