DIMAPUR: School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema, conducted the Idea Presentation as part of the Smart India Hackathon on September 3, 2026.
A total of 12 teams presented innovative solutions on diverse problem statements including: AI assisted early detection system for osteoarthritis risk markers in the North Eastern Region (NER), tourism industry solutions for NER, smart education, AI enabled learning platforms, flash flood prediction systems for hilly regions, procurement systems for farmers, AI powered intelligent assistant for Indian Standards and BIS services, AI based landslide risk monitoring, scheme matching for marginalized entrepreneurs, digital capacity building portals, intelligent land record digitization, and AI powered block planning for train operations.
Each team comprised six members, with at least one female participant. The presentations were judged by a panel of three members-Er. Shanchamo Yanthan (Assistant Professor, IT), Er. Akangjungshi Longkumer (Assistant Professor, CSE), and Er. Sudipta Patowary (Assistant Professor, IT). Selected teams will be screened through the SIH portal, and qualifying teams will represent the institute at the SIH Grand Finale in December 2026 at the national level.
During the programme, Er. Shanchamo Yanthan, SPOC for Smart India Hackathon, expressed gratitude to Prof. N. Venuh, Pro Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, and Prof. Sujata Dash, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, for their support in organising the event. He noted that the Hackathon provided B.Tech students with a platform to showcase creativity and innovative talent.
