NPF central youth wing welcomes passage of FNTA Bill

DIMAPUR, SEP 7 (NPN): Naga People’s Front (NPF) central youth wing has welcomed the unanimous passage of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) Bill by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and appreciated the PDA government led by chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for its passage.
NPF central youth wing through its media cell described the legislation as a significant milestone that establishes an autonomous governing body for the six eastern districts of Nagaland. It credited the passage of the Bill to the political will of the chief minister and the support of representatives of the PDA-led government, saying the unanimous approval reflected the democratic process. The youth wing said the FNTA was expected to help address longstanding developmental gaps in Eastern Nagaland by decentralising governance and bringing development initiatives closer to remote communities.
It also congratulated the people of Eastern Nagaland on the fulfilment of a long-standing aspiration for a self-governing territorial authority. “This empowerment will now enable the people of the region to realise their social, economic, educational, cultural, and linguistic aspirations on an equal footing with the rest of the Naga community,” the youth wing said.
It expressed hope that the FNTA would accelerate development across the eastern region and benefit all communities.
NPF central youth wing also cited Rio’s remark that the “this is not just an administrative arrangement, but a reaffirmation of our collective commitment to ensure equitable development, unity, and progress for all sections of our people.”
