DIMAPUR: College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (CoVS & AH), Central Agricultural University (Imphal), Jalukie, organised an orientation programme for newly admitted 1st Year B.V.Sc. & A.H. students for the academic session 2026–27 at the Seminar Hall on September 7.
The programme was attended by first year and second year students, faculty and staff. Italang Ramlia, retainer lawyer, PDSLA Peren and member of the anti ragging committee, delivered an informative session on anti ragging, explaining legal provisions, consequences and accountability of students. Roland Zeliang, president, Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland, also interacted with the students, encouraging them and reflecting the goodwill of the student community. Students were briefed on hostel rules by Dr. Uttarani Maibam, while Dr. Ksh. Mahesh Singh highlighted welfare activities and facilities. Dr. W. Ramdas Singh explained academic regulations and responsibilities, and Dr. Gunjan Das outlined internship and clinical training, stressing professionalism, discipline and ethical conduct. Dean Dr. I. Shakuntala, Dean, College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, CAU (Imphal), Jalukie welcomed the new batch, urging them to make effective use of academic, clinical, laboratory, library, sports and other facilities, while emphasizing discipline, sincerity and active participation in academics and co curricular activities. She advised students to approach committees or authorities for grievances and not remain silent. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Kumarasamy P., chief hostel warden.
