DIMAPUR, SEP 7 (NPN): Nagaland’s benchrest shooting talents, Dr. Kerheho Kera and Kevipozu Hibo of the Nagaland Benchrest Shooting Club, have further bolstered their credentials to represent India at the upcoming 2027 WRABF World Championship in South Africa. Their commendable performances at the Red & White International Shooting Championship 2026, held at the iconic Senayan Shooting Range, Jakarta, Indonesia, from September 3–6, 2026, marked another milestone in their sporting journey. The event was organised by PB PERBAKIN (ISHA) Indonesian Shooting Association.
Competing as part of a four-member Indian contingent alongside Divyana Vij and Shubhanshi Verma, the team faced nearly 500 shooters from across the globe in one of the sport’s most competitive international events. India secured 12th place in the overall team standings, gaining valuable exposure and reinforcing preparations for the forthcoming world championship.
In individual rankings, Dr. Kera achieved 33rd place, while Hibo finished 43rd, underscoring the rising competitiveness of Indian shooters on the international stage.
Congratulating the duo, General Secretary of the Rimfire & Air Rifles Benchrest Shooting Association of India (RABSAI), Hina Vij, praised their dedication, discipline and consistent performances. She expressed confidence that the athletes will continue to bring laurels to Nagaland, the Nagaland Benchrest Shooting Club and the nation. The association encouraged them to intensify preparations, refine technical precision, and maintain rigorous training as they set their sights on the WRABF World Championship, scheduled in South Africa from August 1–12, 2027.
