DIMAPUR, SEP 9 (NPN): The 9th Inter-school Football Tournament, organised by the Medziphema Town Students’ Union at the local ground, Medziphema, entered its third day with contrasting results in the afternoon and evening fixtures.
The afternoon clash between Rivenburgh School (RBS) and Chakhroma Baptist Mission School (CBMS) ended in a 1–1 draw after a high-intensity battle for a place in the semi-finals. Both teams showcased attacking flair and determination, but neither could secure the decisive edge. Vithochulie opened the scoring for CBMS, while Shirdat equalised for RBS. The match also saw disciplinary action, with yellow cards shown to Shirdat (RBS) and Kekhrie (CBMS).
In sharp contrast, the evening encounter was one-sided as Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) outclassed Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS) with a commanding 6–0 victory. GHSS displayed superior physicality, skill, and teamwork from the outset. Viselie starred with a hat-trick, while Kikruseto netted twice and Lhousakhoto added another to complete the rout.
