DIMAPUR, SEP 9 (NPN): The Women’s Volleyball Tournament organised by the 78 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) under the banner of “SPANDAN – Sports for Peace and Development across Nations” continued with spirited competition at B/78 BN CRPF, NIDC, Dimapur on September 8, 2026.
The tournament, which began on September 7 and will conclude on September 10, aims to promote women’s participation in sports while fostering values of teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship and camaraderie.
On Tuesday, four matches were played involving eight teams. Court Queen Club registered a convincing 2–0 victory over Sparow in Match M-6. In Match M-7, Titanias overcame Modern College in a closely fought contest, winning 2–1. Volaris Team secured a straight-set 2–0 win against Blaze Club in Match-8, while Unity Club defeated Court Queen Club 2–0 in Match-9.
The matches showcased determination, skill and excellent team coordination, with players displaying enthusiasm and competitive spirit. The tournament has provided a vibrant platform for women athletes to demonstrate their talent while reinforcing the message of peace, unity and development through sports.
The 78 Battalion CRPF, in collaboration with SAI, continues to facilitate the tournament with the objective of encouraging greater participation of women in sports and promoting a healthy and positive sporting culture in the region.
