MOKOKCHUNG, SEP 10 (NPN): The 1st Under-15 Futsal Tournament, organised by Christian Residential Higher Secondary School (CRHSS) under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA), was held at the CRHSS Turf here on Thursday, with 12 schools vying for the championship.
Addressing the participating teams and the organising institution, MDFA vice president (Technical) Bendangnukshi applauded CRHSS for promoting games and sports among the younger generation. He encouraged the students to pursue their passion for sports, adding that sporting talent could eventually become a profession.
Bendangnukshi also informed that players now have an opportunity to register through the All India Football Federation (AIFF) centralised registration system, with DigiLocker verification mandated for football players. He said the initiative was aimed at strengthening player registration and enhancing the security and reliability of player records across India.
The programme was chaired by CRHSS teacher Asaso, while the welcome address was delivered by CRHSS principal Naropongla Walling. The invocation was offered by Rev. Dr. Bendang Longkumer, while the oath-taking ceremony was conducted by CRHSS teacher Masetshiba.
