DIMAPUR: District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Phek, held its September meeting at the DC’s Conference Hall on September 10, under the chairmanship of advisor and DPDB chairman Kûdecho Khamo, with Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori presiding as vice chairman.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting deliberated on several key agendas aimed at improving public welfare in the district.
These included- Grant-in-aid for Spero School at Thenyizu village; New Veterinary Health Centres at Phusachuda and Rihuba villages under Chozuba Sub-Division; Opening of Veterinary Health Centre at Losami village; and Upgradation of PHC Chethepa to a Community Health Centre under the Health and Family Welfare Department.
The concerned officers, including the Chief Veterinary Officer (AH&VS) and Chief Medical Officer (H&FW), briefed the house on the current status of these proposals. After deliberation, the board agreed to recommend the matters to the government for consideration.
The meeting also discussed the upcoming Inter-Department Sports Tournament, tentatively scheduled for the second week of October 2026. ADC Phek HQ, Thejakhrienuo Nisa, was appointed convener, while the District Sports Officer (DSO) Phek was named member secretary, along with four officers as members.
Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori briefed the members on the conduct of Reform Utsav, highlighting its objectives and implementation strategies. Kûdecho Khamo, also addressed the meeting, sharing recent achievements for Eastern Nagaland under Article 372 (A) and extending appreciation to the State Government under chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
Representatives from the banking sector, including manager of SBI Phek, S. H. Kohusii and assistant branch manager of NSCB Ltd Phek, Kenesa Kezo, presented various schemes and activities beneficial to public customers through PowerPoint presentations.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to strengthen welfare initiatives, improve healthcare and veterinary services, promote sports and enhance financial awareness in Phek district.
