ANPSA Peren unit organises sepaktakraw and volleyball tourneys

DIMAPUR, SEP 11 (NPN): The ANPSA Peren Unit organised the “Catch Them Young” U-14 Sepak Takraw Tournament and the Inter-School Volleyball Tournament for boys and girls at Baptist Higher Secondary School, Jalukie B.
The Sepak Takraw tournament was held in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland, while the volleyball tournament was organised in partnership with City Barn – The Health Centre, Jalukie, which also provided first-aid support and facilitated free HIV screening during the event.
President of ANPSA Central, Bithungo Kikon, emphasised the importance of sports in the holistic development of students. He encouraged participants to pursue their talents with discipline and dedication, while announcing that champions and runners-up in Sepak Takraw would qualify for participation at the State level.
Representing City Barn, coordinator Estila Ndang highlighted the importance of guidance and counselling for students, underlining the role of health and wellness in education.
In the Sepak Takraw (U-14) Boys’, LM Higher Secondary School emerged as the champion while St. Xavier Higher Secondary School was the runners-up.
In the girls’ category, Kirjath Mission School emerged as the winner while Mungleu Valley School was the runners-up.
In the boys’ volleyball, LM Higher Secondary School was the winner while Baptist High School, Tening secured the runners-up.
In the girls’ category, Haisuiwang School, Jalukie Kamdi emerged as the winner and St. Xavier Higher Secondary School, Jalukie was the runners-up.
The ANPSA Peren Unit expressed gratitude to the collaborating organisations, participating schools, teachers, volunteers, donors and well-wishers for their support in making the tournaments a success.
