DIMAPUR: District Youth Officer (DYO), Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Kohima, in coordination with the Kohima District Administration, has released operational instructions for the student registration drive of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027. The initiative will culminate in the Grand National Dialogue at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from January 10 to 12, 2027.
The registration drive targets youth aged 15 to 29 years as on August 17, 2026, with digital access centralized through the single window dashboard at mybharat.gov.in. The first stage, the Viksit Bharat Quiz, is already live and will accept entries until September 30, 2026. Nagaland forms part of the North East Frontier Region (Purvodaya Cluster) along with Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim and Tripura. Youth from Kohima district will compete under the theme “Act East, Cultural Leadership & Enhancing Connectivity,” focusing on actionable frameworks to position the North East as India’s gateway to Southeast Asia while optimizing regional connectivity and heritage assets. The competition will progress through multiple stages, beginning with the digital quiz, followed by a thematic essay challenge, district level presentations, and the State VBYLD scheduled between November 17 and December 7, 2026. District winners will advance to represent Nagaland at the national dialogue.
Integrated tracks include the Viksit Bharat Challenge, cultural competitions in folk dance, folk song, painting, poetry and nukkad natak, as well as innovation based challenges such as Design for Bharat, Hack for Social Cause, and the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge, supported by institutions like SPA Delhi, IIT Bombay and IIT Kanpur. From 2027 onward, the Youth Parliament will also be fully integrated to foster civic engagement.
To accelerate registration, the district office has activated a Scan to Register protocol through the official VBYLD 2027 QR code.
