GoI approves Khehoi camp

Government of India has given the go ahead signal to the ‘GPRN/NSCN’ to establish a designated camp at Khehoi village, some two and half kilometers away from Vihokhu camp, under Dimapur district, ‘GPRN/NSCN’ sources said today.
The decision was taken at the ceasefire supervisory (CFSB) meeting held Wednesday noon at Chumukedima Police Complex, informed CFSB member from the ‘GPRN/NSCN’ side Hokato Vusshe. Vusshe said the meeting also discussed on the ceasefire ground rules (CFGR) and that representatives of the Government of India had insisted on strict implementation of CFGR by both the NSCN factions.
The Government of India was represented by acting CFSB chairman and special secretary (Internal Security) ML Kumawat, joint secretary (North-east) Navin Verma, State DGP J Chankija, Home Commissioner HK Khullu, DIG (CRPF) and others.
The ‘GPRN/NSCN’ side included Hokato Vusshe, Wangtin Naga and Nitovi Aye. Vusshe told Nagaland Post over phone that ‘GPRN/NSCN’ cadres have already reached Khehoi village and construction of the new designated camp would commence full swing from Thursday onwards.
Meanwhile, it was learnt that both Kumawat and Verma who are on a two-day visit to the state, were likely to call for a separate meeting of the ceasefire monitoring group (CFMG) relating to the NSCN (I-M).
However, NSCN (I-M) sources said they had so far not received any intimation about the proposed CFMG meeting. It may be mentioned that the NSCN (I-M) had termed the appointment of Kumawat as the new CFMG chairman by the Government of India as “arbitrary and unilateral” and decided to boycott future CFMG meetings till the new CFMG chairman was replaced or the NSCN (I-M) taken into confidence in appointment of CFMG chairman.
The NSCN (I-M) had also staged a walk-out in the last CFMG meeting held on June 12 on the same issue.
