DIMAPUR: Amid challenges faced by women entrepreneurs across rural Nagaland, the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SELCO Foundation on September 16 at the Foundation’s office in Bengaluru, Karnataka, to strengthen community rooted enterprises.
Speaking at the signing, Mission Director NSRLM, Moa Sangtam, described the partnership as an opportunity to fast track learning and deliver support-from technology and enterprise development to branding, marketing, and access to networks-based on the actual needs of entrepreneurs.
The collaboration will focus on three programmes: incubation of food processing enterprises in Dimapur, Kohima, Peren, and Phek districts with need based technology and marketing support; building a Champion Network to identify and mentor champions across districts in agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and NTFP based enterprises; and expanding access to decentralised renewable energy and productive use technologies under the Grow DRE initiative.
It is expected that the partnership will support 500 rural women entrepreneurs annually.
