DIMAPUR: District Youth Resources and Sports Office (DYRSO), Dimapur organised the District Level Youth Festival 2026 at the MDSC Indoor Hall, Dimapur, on September 16.
According to DIPR report, the festival provided a platform for young people to showcase their talents and cultural skills through competitions in three categories-folk song, folk dance, and declamation. A total of eight participants took part in the event.
Welcoming the participants, DYRSO Wutsutho said the festival was not merely a competition but an opportunity for young people to build confidence, foster unity, and develop the spirit of sportsmanship. He encouraged participants to give their best, respect fellow competitors, and enjoy the festival in a spirit of camaraderie.
Wutsutho also expressed appreciation to officers, judges, teachers, staff, and others who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme. He informed that district level winners would proceed for further selection at the state level, where only the best eight teams from the 17 districts would be chosen. He urged participants to prepare well for the next stage and wished them success.
In the folk dance category, KSUDC secured first position, while SSUDC stood second. In the folk song category, Aotsür won first position, followed by Kentener Cultural Club in second place. In the declamation category, Hetisa T. Sangtam secured first position, while Achunjanger Aier stood second.
The programme concluded with prize distribution, followed by a vote of thanks proposed by Wutsutho, DYRSO, marking the close of the District Level Youth Festival 2026.
