Abundant Life Foundation (ALF), in collaboration with the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), is set to host the second season of its family painting programme, “Made with Love–Mi Familia”, on October 17, 2026, at NEZCC, Dimapur.
ALF founder N Areenee Patton Ngullie said that the programme will bring children and their parents together through art, with one parent and one child participating as a team. The initiative seeks to promote family bonding while encouraging creativity among children, she said.
The first edition, held last year, received an overwhelming response, according to Arenee Paiton Ngullie. She said witnessing children participate alongside their mothers or fathers was particularly meaningful, as it allowed parents and children to bond outside the usual settings of home, school and work. Season 2 will feature three age-based categories with separate themes. The Junior category for children aged 4-7 will follow the theme “My Happiness”, while the Intermediate category for those aged 8-12 will explore “World Envisioned Through Your Eyes”. The Senior category, for ages 13-17, will carry the theme “Solitude in Hues”.
The registration fee is Rs. 200 per entry, which includes refreshments for participants. Chart paper will be provided at the venue, while participants are required to bring their own painting materials.
Participants are required to report by 9:30 a.m., with the competition scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Contestants will have one hour to complete their paintings. Two judges will assess the entries based on creativity, use of colour and the meaning behind the artwork. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each category.
According to ALF, the programme is also part of its broader effort towards cultural preservation and community engagement. It views culture not only as heritage displayed on a stage, but also as everyday practices that strengthen families and communities, including spending time together and passing creativity from one generation to the next.
Schools and families across Nagaland have been invited to participate in the programme.
