The “Time Travel to Nagaland, 1979” photography exhibition at the Directorate of Art & Culture, Bayavü Hill, Kohima, has been extended by a week following a strong public response.
According to a press release, the exhibition, which was scheduled to conclude on September 19, will now remain open to the public until September 25.
The exhibition features historical photographs documenting Nagaland in 1979, offering visitors a glimpse into the state’s past and the people, places and cultural life captured through the photographs.
The concluding programme of the exhibition was held at the Conference Room of the Directorate of Art & Culture on Friday. It was chaired by Assistant Archivist, Art & Culture, Temjenjungla Aier, and included addresses by project director and ethnomusicologist, Emi Okada, and project member and archaeologist, Hitoshi Endo.
Director of Art & Culture, Adela Moa, delivered the vote of thanks. The Department of Art & Culture has invited members of the public, students, researchers, scholars and photography enthusiasts to visit the exhibition during the extended period.
