DIMAPUR, SEP 19 (NPN): Dimapur United Sporting Club (DUSC) registered a comfortable victory over Akito FC (AFC) in the Dimapur District Football Association (DDFA) league cum late Hejeto Ayemi Memorial tournament played on Saturday.
The opening half saw both sides create opportunities, with AFC having the first chance to break the deadlock in the early minutes. DUFC then came close to taking the lead following a well-delivered cross from the left flank, but AFC’s goalkeeper made a good save, pushing the ball away for a corner.
AFC’s goalkeeper continued to deny Dimapur United on several occasions, keeping his side in the contest with a series of saves in the first half.
DUFC eventually broke the deadlock in the 83rd minutes through the boots of Vinato and soon doubled their advantage in the 87th minutes when found the back of the net Yiben from a header, and doubled his goal for DUFC with the third goal in the extra added time. The man of the match was awarded to Amarnath of DUFC.
The second match of the day was played between Kachari Sports Club and Thahekhu Youth FC, with the latter winning the match 2:0. Thahekhu Youth FC took the lead early as Rahul made a breakthrough in the 3rd minutes. The win for Thahekhu Youth FC was sealed when Lanjon doubled their side score in the 50th minutes.
The man of the match award was bagged by Yash of Kachari SC.
