DIMAPUR: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kohima, under ATARI, Zone VII, conducted a training programme on “Organic Nutrient Management in Rabi Crops and Importance of Kitchen Garden” on September 17 at the Conference Hall, Office of the Superintendent of Police, Tseminyu.
The programme was graced by Tumchobemo Yanthan, Additional Superintendent of Police, Tseminyu. During the technical session, Imtinuksung, SMS (Soil Conservation), KVK Kohima, explained the use of organic sources of nutrients, biofertilisers and liquid formulations to improve soil health and enhance Rabi crop production. The session also highlighted the importance of kitchen gardens in providing nutritional security, reducing household expenditure and ensuring chemical free vegetables throughout the year.
A hands on demonstration on Soil Organic Carbon testing was conducted using Soil Organic Detection Kits. Altogether 57 police personnel from Tseminyu district attended the training.
The programme concluded with the distribution of Rabi seed kits to participants.
