DIMAPUR: The Draft Electoral Roll 2026 under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) with October 1, 2026 as the qualifying date, was published across Nagaland districts on September 20.
In Dimapur, the draft roll was released at the office chamber of Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, in the presence of representatives of recognised political parties. Dr. Chang clarified that the draft roll was not final and urged parties to scrutinise entries and file claims or objections by October 20. The district currently records 89,074 electors after deletions during the revision exercise.
In Mokokchung, DC & DEO Ajit Kumar Verma, distributed copies of the draft roll to political parties. The district identified 1,56,302 electors after house to house enumeration and digitalisation, with 7,900 entries marked uncollectable. Citizens were urged to verify particulars and submit claims or objections within the stipulated period.
In Tseminyu, the draft roll recorded 23,104 electors, including 11,123 male and 11,976 female, along with 136 service voters. The district achieved 100% coverage of enumeration forms, with 1,142 cases categorised as uncollectable. Citizens may file claims and objections until October 20.
In Longleng, copies of the draft roll were handed over to political parties by ADC & ERO Thungchanbemo Tungoe. Officials emphasised the importance of cooperation among stakeholders to ensure accuracy.
In Tamlu, the draft roll for the 49 Tamlu Assembly Constituency was published by ADC & ERO T. Lankonsen Tsanglao. Citizens attaining 18 years of age by the qualifying dates in 2026 were invited to submit advance applications.
In Zunheboto, the draft roll covering all six Assembly Constituencies was published in the presence of representatives from NPF, BJP, NPP, and INC. Citizens were requested to verify entries and file claims or objections by October 20.
In Kiphire, the draft roll was released at the DC’s Conference Hall under the chairmanship of ADC Longdiba L Sangtam. Citizens were informed that claims and objections could be filed through BLOs, AEROs, or online portals until October 20.
In Peren, DC & DEO Hiazu Meru announced that the district recorded 53,859 electors, comprising 26,609 male and 27,250 female. He highlighted challenges during the revision and appreciated political parties for their cooperation.
In Pughoboto, the draft roll for the 13 Pughoboto Assembly Constituency was published with political party representatives present. Officials urged active participation in filing claims and objections by October 20.
In Tuensang, the draft roll recorded 71,368 electors across four Assembly Constituencies. DC & DEO urged citizens to verify entries and submit claims or objections within the prescribed period. Across districts, election officials appealed to citizens and political parties to extend cooperation during the claims and objections period to ensure that the Final Electoral Roll 2026 is accurate, inclusive and error free.
