DIMAPUR, SEP 23 (NPN): Local Arrangement Committee (LAC) on Repatriation of Naga Ancestral Human Remains has convened a coordination meeting at Western Sümi Hoho Office, Chekiye Village on September 29, 2026 at 3pm to deliberate on the ongoing process of repatriating Naga ancestral human remains currently housed in London.
In a statement, LAC member and Western Sümi Hoho (WSH) president Tokuho Suhoi Neho and LAC member and Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Dimapur (ENPUD) president NT Thamlong Phom informed that the meeting aims to bring together key tribal leadership and community bodies to ensure a coordinated, respectful, and collective approach toward bringing home the ancestral remains. In this regard, LAC said invitations have been extended to tribal leadership—including president and designated officials of Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD)—to join the consultative session alongside other constituent civil society representatives.
LAC has also requested all invited organizational leaders to attend the session along with an accompanying official from their respective offices to ensure full representation.
LAC said the initiative reflected a vital collective step toward honouring Naga ancestral heritage, cultural identity, and historical dignity through unified community action.
