DIMAPUR: Regional Ayurveda Research Centre (RARC), Dimapur celebrated the 11th Ayurveda Day under the theme “Ayurveda for Health” on September 23. The programme was graced by Dr. Girish Patil S., Director, ICAR-National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, as chief guest.
The event was formally opened by Dr. Laiphrakpam Renu Devi, Consultant, who highlighted Ayurveda’s growing relevance in preventive healthcare, nutrition and environmental sustainability. Dr. Dipsundar Sahu, Research Officer (Ay.) and in charge, underscored Ayurveda’s holistic approach as a vital solution in modern healthcare, stressing the collective vision of promoting sustainable wellness, natural lifestyle practices and proactive self care. As part of the celebration, the Centre organised a range of community centric activities, including health camps, orientation programmes and awareness campaigns in schools to promote Ayurveda, healthy lifestyle practices, nutrition and preventive healthcare. The event featured an interactive quiz competition for patients, distribution of medicinal saplings to encourage herbal living, a Rangoli competition and a non flame cooking contest and creative culinary ideas. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Nikhil Krishna, Research Assistant (Botany).
