DIMAPUR: Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has expressed appreciation to the commissioner of police, Dimapur, for the active role played by the police in apprehending extortionists and anti-social elements who have created unrest in the district over the past few months.
DCCI through its media cell expressed confidence that the police would continue to work with the same dedication and commitment to maintain peace and security in the area.
The chamber acknowledged that the business community had been unable to carry out normal activities or operate as usual because of the disturbances. It urged the responsible authorities to extend their support so businesses could function without fear or interruption.
DCCI demanded that any person found involved in anti-social activities or acting against the law should be immediately arrested and dealt with according to the law, stressing that “no one is above the law.” Extending its full cooperation to law enforcement agencies, DCCI requested the authorities to remain vigilant and proactive during the forthcoming festive season, when the law-and-order situation tends to become more sensitive.
It also called upon all anti-social elements to desist from unlawful and disruptive activities and to help maintain peace and harmony in Dimapur, so the district could move towards a safer, more peaceful and prosperous future.
