Kronu on whirlwind tour

Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board, Neiba Kronu, said decisions to make the right choice is need of the hour as Nagas today are living in a "transitional period", unsure when the Naga political problem would be solved.
He was speaking at a gathering of village elders and student after having inaugurated room extension of three schools during a whirlwind tour of Khezhakeno village on Saturday (July 12). He first inaugurated the room extension of Govt. Middle School under the aegis of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) followed by another inauguration of the extension of Govt. Primary School at Komuno Khel and then at the Govt. Primary school in the main village.
The Deputy Chairman also advised the student community gathered in Khezhakeno village community hall that to lead a frugal lifestyle and avoid habits like consuming pan, tamul cigarettes etc, and rather concentrate on taking care for the welfare of elderly parents after school hours in addition to their academic studies.
Citing a quotation by chief minister Rio, who suggested "Eat only the fruit as the seed can give more fruits", he added lots of facilities are available for entrepreneurs in Nagaland provided one is sincere and repay timely installments of the loans taken to the banks.
Earlier, senior advocate and president of the Nagaland Bar Association, Timikha Koza, in his welcome address said that even if sufficient funds are available, it is of no use unless the desire for education is there. In this the VEC (Village Education Committee) has a great role to play, he added.
State Project Director SSA Nagaland, John Lohe emphasized on the development of children’s mentality including phonetics and computer aided learning.
The occasion was enlivened by special songs rendered by GMS Khezhakeno and the "Keleshukro ko". The meeting was chaired by VEC chairman K. Medovi Koza.
