DIMAPUR: A training programme for field functionaries and Census officials on the preparation of the Town and Village Directory (TVD) for the District Census Handbook (DCHB), Census 2027, was held at the DPDB Hall, Longleng on September 23.
The programme was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Longleng, Thungchanbemo Tungoe, and attended by Census officials and field functionaries from all Census Circles of the district.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of the DCHB as a valuable statistical and reference document. He stressed the need for sincerity, accuracy and commitment in data collection and verification, expressing confidence in the officials and functionaries to carry out their responsibilities effectively. The training was led by Imkongnungsang, Deputy Director, Directorate of Census Operations, Nagaland, along with Moanungsang and Dauom. The trainers provided detailed guidance on procedures and requirements for preparing the Town and Village Directory. The intensive and interactive sessions gave participants a clearer understanding of the data collection and verification process.
