DIMAPUR, SEP 27 (NPN): Dimapur-based tribal hohos have urged the state government to immediately resume the ongoing construction of the second-phase two-lane Foot Hills Road (FHR) project across the State.
In a statement, the hohos held a consultative meeting with the Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) at Kher Mahal, Dimapur, on September 26 to deliberate on resumption of construction on the remaining portions of the project.
Following discussions, the meeting resolved to urge the State government to immediately issue work orders for all remaining foothills road stretches falling under the concerned EE divisions, stating that the working season was fast approaching and the matter should be taken up on priority.
The hohos also reaffirmed their support for and expressed unflinching confidence in the initiatives of NFHRCC until the foothills road project was successfully completed.
The meeting further resolved to support the state government’s mega project initiative appropriately if it is upgraded to National Highway status under Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), under the aegis of the Trans Nagaland Highways (Foothills Road).
