DIMAPUR: As part of Poshan Maah 2026 under Kohima (Urban) ICDS Project, the office of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Kohima Urban, under the Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland, organised a community meeting on the theme “Hamari Anganwadi Hamari Jimmedari-My Anganwadi My Responsibility” at Midland Community Hall, Kohima.
Addressing the gathering, Menuokholie Kire, chairman of Midland Council, Kohima, appreciated the department for reaching out with various welfare schemes to mothers and children across the state. He urged the community to take advantage of the schemes and derive maximum benefit. CDPO Reyivolu Kezo highlighted schemes under Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0, Mission Shakti-Palna, and PMMVY, while seeking community cooperation for their successful implementation.
The programme also witnessed distribution of eggs to adolescent girls for nutritional support under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) by District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) Kohima.
Earlier, Anino Peseyie, senior supervisor, highlighted activities of ECS and ECCE, while Sohile Tep, district coordinator, spoke on nutrition for adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers. Anganwadi children presented a special number during the programme.
The event was followed by a display of locally available vegetables, tasting station, Aadhaar enrolment and updation, PMMVY spot registration, activation of Anganwadi Management Committee, and growth monitoring station.
Midland ward councillor Kekhrieselhou (Neiu) Metha and other colony leaders were also present.
