DIMAPUR: The three-day Sunday School Teachers’ Conference organised by Ao Baptist Church Association (ABAM) concluded on September 27, 2026, at Impur, bringing together Sunday School teachers from churches under ABAM for fellowship, learning, worship and reflection on Christian education.
Held under the theme “Taküm Sempet Arangshiba” (Developing Life Skills) based on Philippians 1:9, the conference focused on equipping and encouraging teachers in their ministry of nurturing children and young people in the Christian faith.
The main speakers included Rev. Temsü Jamir, executive secretary ABAM; Dr. Lipoknenla Ozüküm, associate professor, Eastern Theological College, Jorhat; Rev. Dr. Moanungsang, secretary, education & literature ABAM; and Narosenla, director, Christian Education Ministry, MTBA. Interactive sessions were facilitated by R. Asenla Jamir, director, Christian Education Ministry, DABA; Dr. Moalila, assistant professor, Clark Theological College, Aolijen; and Dr. Lipoknenla Ozüküm. The presence of Bideno Kikon, secretary, Christian Education NBCC, added encouragement to the gathering.
Altogether, 933 delegates representing 123 churches participated, reflecting the strong commitment of ABAM churches to Sunday School and Christian education. The conference provided a platform for teachers to renew their commitment, strengthen their understanding and learn from one another.
As the conference concluded on September 27, participants returned to their respective churches with renewed enthusiasm and a deeper sense of responsibility for Sunday School ministry. The gathering reaffirmed the importance of investing in the spiritual formation of the younger generation and strengthening those entrusted with their Christian education.
