KROS College, Kohima, hosted its biennial celebration, Artistic Gala 2026, from September 24 to 25, bringing together students and young artists from colleges across Nagaland for two days of music, creativity and artistic expression.
The inaugural session began with a prayer led by Pastor Temjen Sempo of KABA. Commissioner & Secretary, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Kekhrievor Kevichüsa (IPoS), attended the event as the dignitary and delivered the address.
Kevichüsa emphasised the importance of creating platforms for students to nurture their talents, skills and abilities and transform them into meaningful opportunities and livelihoods.
The two-day event featured competitions in solo, choir, live band, photography and live painting. Guest artists and performers included Shau Evans, Keziah Semy, ZT Slingshot, Fifth Note, Psyche Vision and Cherry on Jupiter.
In the solo category, Deborah of Japfü Christian College, Kigwema, was adjudged Best Soloist, while Rüdielhounuo Sekhose of Charity Higher Secondary School, Kohima, was the runner-up. Daniel Basnet of Sazolie College, Kohima, received the Unique Genre award.
Voices of Grace from Kohima College won the choir competition, with KROS Choir of KROS College securing the runner-up position.
In photography, Pewe Lohe of Kohima Science College emerged winner, while Khroto-ü Letro of Phek Government College was the runner-up.
Küzhonu Vasa of Charity Higher Secondary School, Kohima, won the live painting competition, followed by Lutsomong of KROS College in second place.
The live band competition was won by The Unfiltered of KROS College, while Misfits of Don Bosco College, Kohima, secured the runner-up position.
Individual awards in the band category went to Unotolu Theluo of Amaranth Band, Kohima College, for Best Vocalist; Sanjana Basnet of The Unfiltered, KROS College, for Best Drummer; Elias Tungoe of The Unfiltered for Best Bassist; P Suthem of The Unfiltered for Best Guitarist; and Nginlei Konyak of Kohima College for Best Pianist.
The two-day celebration showcased the creativity and talents of young people from across Nagaland and reflected KROS College’s motto, “Not Word But Deed.”
