DIMAPUR: An Organic Marketing Shed was dedicated at the Super Market, Zunheboto, on September 29, 2026.
The programme commenced with an invocation by councillor, ZTC, Hilika Y. Yeptho, followed by a short speech from councillor (advisor), ZTC, Hekuto Zhimo. The consecration and blessing of the shed was performed by Kupuli Achumi, secretary pastor, Project (W), while the facility was formally unveiled by chairperson, ZTC, K. Herato Sukhalu.
According to DIPR report, the Organic Marketing Shed was expected to provide a dedicated and accessible space for local farmers and producers to market and sell organically grown agricultural products directly to consumers. The initiative aims to promote organic farming, provide better market access for local producers, encourage healthier food choices, and support sustainable livelihoods within the community.
The facility is also expected to strengthen the local agricultural economy by creating a more organised platform for the sale of locally produced organic items, while encouraging consumers to choose fresh and locally sourced products.
The programme was chaired by councillor, Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC), Kakikho Achumi.
