DIMAPUR: Dorians Society, Dimapur has announced the 5th Dorians Society Spelling Bee 2026, scheduled to be held on October 31 at Kingdom Culture Church, Vikiye Complex, Tajen Ao Road (formerly Circular Road), opposite Notun Basti junction.
In a press release, the organising committee extended invitations to both government and private schools in Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland districts to participate. Each school may nominate two students from Classes 7 and 8, accompanied by a teacher coordinator.
To facilitate participation, a registration fee of Rs. 200 per student has been fixed, though government school students will be exempt. The deadline for submission of forms is October 23.
Participants are requested to arrive at the venue by 9:30 a.m. to complete formalities and avoid delays. The competition will be overseen by a panel of judges and pronouncers/moderators selected by the organising committee. Each competitor will be given two minutes to spell a word from the dictionary, with the option to request its meaning, part of speech, etymology, and usage example.
Cash prizes along with citations will be awarded to the top three finishers. The committee stated that the primary objective of the event is to promote healthy competition among students and provide them with a platform to advance to larger stages.
