Kohima, Oct 5 (NPN): A three day training programme for officials of the Directorate of Census Operations (DCO), Nagaland, for Population Enumeration under Census 2027 commenced on Monday.
The training is being conducted by National Trainers Mhathung Rangthang and Vaibhav Sharma, who are serving as resource persons for the programme.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Imkongnungsang, Deputy Director, DCO Nagaland, said the training marks the beginning of preparations for Phase II of Census 2027 in the State. He informed that more than 6,500 officials will be trained over the next two months as part of the preparations for Population Enumeration.
During the sessions, Mhathung Rangthang delivered a detailed presentation on technical concepts, including the functioning and operations of the Census portal and mobile application. Vaibhav Sharma conducted sessions on Census schedules and important terminologies related to Population Enumeration. The training will continue for two more days. Upon completion, the trained officials will be deputed to districts during October to conduct training for officials at the district level. A total of 35 officials of the Directorate of Census Operations, Nagaland, are participating in the programme.
