DIMAPUR, OCT 7 (NPN): NSCN (I-M) has issued a clarion call to all Naga people and comrades in arms to come together as “one family, one people, and one nation”, irrespective of boundaries.
In a statement issued by its MIP, NSCN (I-M) said the Naga national struggle was for the “sovereignty of Nagalim” and that the Naga people had been fighting for more than seven decades to liberate Nagalim from “occupation forces” and restore its sovereignty “to establish Nagalim for Christ”.
It said Nagas were one people and belonged to one another wherever they might be, asserting that there was neither “Eastern Nagalim nor Western Nagalim, but only Nagalim”. NSCN (I-M) alleged that adversarial forces had invaded Nagalim and arbitrarily partitioned ancestral Naga territories between India and Myanmar in 1953. It said Nagas must unite against “inimical forces” to free Nagalim from political and military bondage.
It said peace and reconciliation among Nagas were essential for their future and that it would continue pursuing the mission among its brethren. It also alleged that forces opposing unity, reconciliation and a political solution based on historical and political rights were the “mouthpiece and creation” of the common enemy.
NSCN (I-M) said Nagas were products of their history but not its prisoners, adding that they must learn from past mistakes and move towards a common future as one people.
It said it would always seek peace, but “not through capitulation– peace in freedom”, and called upon all Naga people and comrades in arms to come together as one family, one people and one nation.
