Naga Council seeks extension of vehicle document deadline

DIMAPUR, OCT 7 (NPN): Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has appealed to the Dimapur police to extend the October 11 deadline for vehicle document verification and open additional centres to ease the rush at the Dimapur Transport Office. In a letter to the commissioner of police, Dimapur, NCD president GK Rengma and general secretary LK Peter Anal said the council had received complaints from vehicle owners facing difficulties due to long queues on the road leading to the transport office at Purana Bazaar.
NCD urged the authorities to put in place additional arrangements for vehicle inspection and document verification, particularly at the old district transport office in Chümoukedima.
The council also urged the authorities to consider the difficulties faced by school-going children and their families, noting that final examinations for the academic session were approaching.
NCD appealed for an extension of the October 11 deadline and additional operational centres to facilitate vehicle owners and reduce public inconvenience.
