Sensitisation programme on measles held at Tizit

DIMAPUR: In view of reports of measles cases detected in the sub division and with the objective of curbing further spread of the disease, a sensitisation programme for all stakeholders was conducted at the ADC Conference Hall, Tizit, on October 7, organised by the ADC Office, Tizit.
According to DIPR report, delivering the introductory speech, SDO (Civil) Tizit, Tumpen P. Tsanglao, stressed the importance of vaccines and said that involving civil society and church leaders was crucial as their platforms are among the most trusted ways to sensitise communities and create awareness.
Dr. Wungyong Konyak, DPO RCH (UIP) Mon, explained in detail how antibodies are developed in the human body and highlighted the importance of administering recommended vaccines during the early stages of life.
Surveillance Officer, WHO, Dr. M. A. H. Azhar, informed that vaccination would commence from October 12, 2026, in all villages and schools under the sub division. The programme was attended by government officials, school representatives, colony chairmen, GBs, and church workers.
