Gajmer sworn in as Sikkim State Information Commissioner

Gangtok, Oct 8 (PTI): Former Sikkim bureaucrat Tilak Gajmer was sworn in as the State Information Commissioner on Thursday during a ceremony here.
Governor Om Prakash Mathur administered the oath of office to Gajmer at the Lok Bhawan.
Gajmer served as principal director-cum-secretary of the Horticulture Department before retiring from state government service on November 30, 2025.
The post of State Information Commissioner had fallen vacant after Kuber Bhandari was appointed State Chief Information Commissioner on May 7 this year. Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang congratulated Gajmer on his appointment, and said his experience and commitment would contribute to strengthening transparency, accountability and citizens’ right to information in the state.
In a social media post, Tamang wished Gajmer a successful tenure in the service of the people.
