NEW DELHI, OCT 9 (PTI): Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday held a roundtable in Singapore with senior representatives of leading global investment firms to discuss India’s economic resilience amid global uncertainties, as well as the opportunities and challenges arising from rapid advances in artificial intelligence.
Representatives of global investment firms, including Millennium Partners, Brevan Howard, BlackRock, PIMCO, Carlyle, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Temasek, Citadel, JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank, attended the meeting, the finance ministry said in a post on X.
The discussions covered India’s economic outlook amid volatile oil prices and geopolitical and geoeconomic developments, along with the implications of rapid advances in AI, it said.
Sitharaman also exchanged views with global investors on India’s macroeconomic fundamentals, financial markets and measures to deepen market participation and attract greater foreign capital into Indian assets.
The roundtable provided a platform to exchange views on India’s evolving economic and financial landscape and the country’s investment opportunities amid global uncertainties.
